Our Story

Tamasha is an African music publishing company with an extensive archive of songs and sounds recorded across East and Central Africa. The catalogue mainly spans from the 1950s to the early 1990s, and includes some contemporary sounds. Key names in this archive include Franco, Mbilia Bel, Tabu Ley, Dr Nico and Simba Wanyika.

We grow through diverse collaborations, and some of our partners include: The Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP), Orchard Music, Skiza Tunes, Africori and Mdundo. We also engage with local and international musicians, researchers, and academic institutions.

We are also exploring documentary production; check out African in the Anthropocene, our collaborative documentary series.
